Friday Faves 4.19 – The Fitnessista

Hello friends! Happy Friday! How was your week? What are you doing this weekend? It’s going to be wild but fun here. We have a military retirement party, a school event, a birthday party, a neighborhood party, and it’s my brother’s birthday. Bring on all the spring fun! I’ve also been working hard this week on an exciting opportunity EquiLife. I am so excited and honored to be included and will share details when I can 🙂

Let me know what you’re up to and what’s happening this spring. I love catching up with you and hearing about your life!

For now, it’s time for the weekly Friday Faves party. Here I share some of my favorite finds from the week and around the web. I love learning about your favorites too, so please let us know something you love in the comments section below.

Friday Faves 4/19

life:

We had the most amazing night out at Le Rendezvous last weekend. It’s a Tucson classic, and so many people rave about it, so we finally gave it a try. It was all a dream.

We shared scallops for an appetizer, enjoyed wine, beef filets for two (with perfectly sautéed vegetables and some potatoes I wanted to live in), and a Grand Marnier soufflé. YUM. We will definitely be back with the girls, especially since they have escargot; their all-time favorite appetizer.

I realized I never posted before and after pictures for our awesome floor project. We replaced the carpet upstairs with laminate, and they remodeled our bedroom and office, as they used to be made of hardwood. We just wanted everything to match and we wanted a neutral brown that would be classic.

I’m so happy with how it turned out!

We also replaced the railing on the stairs.

This is what it looked like before:

with a safety rail while they were redoing the fence:

and after:

A million times better.

We never intended to stay here forever, but we are constantly updating the house (like a pool!) that make us want to stay longer. Also, with the current market, we don’t plan on going anywhere.

The girls and I saw Phil Wickham in concert last night! I was looking forward to it – the girls were neutral about it lol- for quite a while. We all loved it and were singing and dancing the whole time. He is incredibly talented and I loved the overall message of the show. It was a big festival of positive vibes for all of us.

P also received her first communion last weekend. We celebrated mass with family and had an epic lunch at Ventana.

Five pick me up.

Fitness, health and good food:

Still cruising along with CBO protocol. I’m finally getting to the end and it’s been nice to get more foods into the rotation. Protocols are currently 20% off, incl my favorite detox. You can also stack the code FITNESSISTA10 on many of them EquiLife products with this link.

Healthy Trader Joe’s shopping list.

Fashion + Beauty:

I got this dress from Dillard’s and obsessed with it. (I sized down to an XS since I read in reviews that it runs large.)

It is similar to a La Vie Style House tunic for a fraction of the price. I got hot pink but now I want it the black one.

On a side note, you may have noticed that the Beautycounter site has gone dark as of today.

Here is a copy of the email I sent to my clients this morning:

Back in 2021, the company was sold to a private equity firm, The Carlyle Group. After several years of discovering a mismatch in the true vision for the incredible company, founder and CEO Gregg Renfrew (along with other like-minded investors) buys it out.

This is great news – for you, for me, and for Beautycounter (and its mission) as a whole! I have full confidence in Gregg as a leader.

The not-so-great part of all of this is that there will be some downtime during the transition.

As of today, the Beautycounter website will be unavailable for purchase until Wednesday, May 1st.

There have been a lot of rumors that the company is shutting down, but Gregg assured us that everything will be back to business as usual (products, ordering process, website, product credit – everything!) after the sale closes on May 1st. Everything should look and feel the same at that time.

I hear there are some good things planned starting in May, including new product launches this summer, so stay tuned!

Happy Friday, friends! Have a wonderful weekend and thank you for stopping by the blog today.
